Disappointed
So I had used the Sunrise calendar for iOS and was favorably impressed, although there are several key features missing. I naturally went to Sunrise for my Mac so I could keep desktop and iOS devices all in sync.
Initially, the app asks you to create an account, which is weird as the iOS version does not require that. In the iOS version, you simply give it the accounts you want to connect to the calendar and it goes. I’m having a difficult time understanding why the Mac version would require some sort of separate “sunrise” account. The only conclusion is that they want to mine my data for one reason or another as calendar aps clearly don’t need that to connect to calendar accounts that are kept elsewhere like exchange, icloud or what have you. For me, that is a show stopper as the last thing I need is another account with data floating around somewhere in the cloud.
I’ll stick with calendar apps that do not require some separate account.
